"I'm not an idiot." Draco sneered as he backed away from Barty and made himself some distance from the wet floor. These shoes were nice. Italian leather. He was not ruining them with some filthy rain water out of a wand. Looking less than impressed, he watched the water rain down and considered if he really wanted to do more missions.
"Did the Dark Lord command me to do it?" Cause if he didn't, he might try to find a way out of it. "I only listen to him or my father." It wasn't true but whatever it took to avoid more tedious quests to prove himself.
"You are questioning me? I believe you were there when the Dark Lord made my position clear. By questioning me, you are questioning him. What I tell you, you do. What I tell your father, he does. And don't pretend as if you don't mostly listen to your mother." Barty rolled his eyes and, finally, finished his protective spell. Like a golden web, something settled around the locket. He took a deep breath, then picked it up, immediately letting it slide into his pocket.
"Put the box where you found it. Ideally, we will leave here undetected."
"... Fine, what do you want me to do at Hogwarts?"
Heading over to the drawer, he slipped the empty box in and closed it again, knowing that he had to stop arguing. It was just hard. He didn't enjoy any of this. He wanted to not be a death eater any more, if he could go back on it then he happily would. Though he didn't think it'd be possible, frankly. His parents would have been awfully disappointed in him. These days, it was so hard to be pure=blooded, lazy and cowardly.
"I will let you know when the time comes. And, Draco?" Barty looked him over, the tapped lightly against his own head. "Guard your mind. The Dark Lord has no reason to be as lenient with you as I am and what I know, he could know as well."
It was basically written all over Draco's face. Really, Regulus had been subtle compared to his younger cousin. Oh, well. "Also, there is a lot of shame in being a coward. None in being gay."
"I am neither! Not a coward, not gay. You know nothing about me."
With an annoyed glare, he followed Barty to head out of the store, insanely frustrated that yes, Barty knew too much about time. He was going to have to be way more careful.
